Edgars has been run as a planning consultancy by Jayne Norris since 2007 but its roots go back further.
It was originally founded in 2001 by Jayne’s husband, David Norris, as a firm of Chartered Quantity Surveyors for the construction and property industries.
Jon Westerman joined Edgars in 2016 and was appointed as Director in 2017. This large range of experience across the public and private sectors extends and consolidates the skills in the business.
Using her thirty years’ planning experience, which included twenty years working in local government at South Oxfordshire District Council and West Oxfordshire District Council, Edgars is run with Jayne’s ethos which is to “Care More”.
Whether it be with clients, staff, local authorities, fellow consultants or sustainability of projects on which they’re working, it is this ethos that runs through everything.
It means staff are developed and stretched, clients feel nurtured and respected, local authorities know that their positions will be understood, and their peer group, such as architects and specialist consultants, know that they are working collaboratively.
Growth:
Edgars has seen year on year growth and is now a 10-strong team of expert planners working across a whole range of impressive and successful projects.
Edgars recently moved into stunning new offices in The Old Bank in Witney, Oxfordshire, befitting the evolution of the company and type of innovative projects on which the team works.
In 2014 Edgars was awarded Smarter Planning Champions status by Planning Portal, a result of our continued desire to push for modern and sustainable development.
We are active members of Construction Excellence Oxford, Cambridge and Berkshire, and are members of Bicester Vision.
Where we work:
Projects cover a range of clients across the UK and is centred on Oxfordshire, Wiltshire, Gloucestershire, Buckinghamshire, London and the South East, South West, North East, North West and Wales.
It is Jayne’s vision, her set of core values and her loyal and hardworking team, that make Edgars the success it is today.
How we do it:
First and foremost, we really do care more.
We care because we are ambitious, for our clients, our staff and our company.
